Andrew Collins and Jiri Povolny, the founders of Rudolph Fiedler, have developed the company philosophy around the concept of continuous improvement and the creation of exciting new instruments that are both satisfying to play, good to look at and that give the player a chance to be connected with both the history and the future of the instrument. Investment in state of the art design technology as well as a close working relationship and sponsorship of The Acoustic Research Institute in Prague has enabled the company to set previously unknown standards of quality and consistency in its production.

Using a mix of new and traditional methods, accurate copies of historic instruments by many of the best known 17th,18th and 19th century makers have been created giving the modern player the best of both old and new. The workshops, located in Unhost, 30 KM west of Prague occupy a 17th century watermill giving the perfect environment for Rudolph Fiedler's team of craftsmen to fulfill their potential.

In addition to its catalogued products, the "Perfect Double" scheme means copies of fine old instruments can be made cost effectively on a one off basis. Players suddenly do not need to take their valuable instruments on tour or into environments where damage may occur thus often saving on insurance premiums.
